Islamophobic Planet

The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “The parable of the believers in their affection, mercy, and compassion for each other is that of a body. When any limb aches, the whole body reacts with sleeplessness and fever.”

We are living in some really dark times. We are witnessing, not just in the UK but around the world, is a great deal of hatred and violence, especially against minorities. Many powerful governments have philosophies and ideologies which are very dangerous. The fact that some of these governments have been “democratically” elected shows what kind of society we are living in.

One group of people who have constantly been persecuted, yet very little is done about it, are Muslims. Muslims around the world are being killed and tortured. Their rights are being taken away from them. Yet people don’t talk about this. No one in the media cares about Muslims around the world. Even governments of “Islamic” countries are guilty, of not caring, and also being the ones that carry out persecution against Muslims.

One of the most persecuted Muslims are the Uyghur Muslims in China. Their lifestyle has been completely restricted by the authority. They live in a police state, with constant controls and checks being placed on them. A re-education camp, where Uyghur Muslim men are being tortured and killed, so they denounce their religion. Over a million Muslims have been sentenced to this camp without trails. To remove Islam from their country, the Masjids and Madrassas are being closed and banned. Qurans are being burnt. Scholars are killed. Children are being taken away from their parents. Whilst the men are at the camps, the women are being forced to marry Chinese men. This is the reality for Uyghur Muslims, whilst the world stays silent. The worst thing is that Muslim countries have not come out to condemn China. Instead they have approved the use of camps. Why are they approving the torture of Muslims? They only care about themselves. Most disappointedly is the approval from the Pakistani government. Imran Khan, you went to the UN to talk about Islamophobia around the world. Why are you silent over the treatment of the Uyghur. You are a hypocrite, until you denounce the camps, and speak out against the actions of China on the Uyghur Muslims. It is easy to call out India and their treatment of Muslims, especially in Kashmir. That is your role as the leader of Pakistan. What shows your true colours and values is when it is not in your self-interest to speak out. That splits the strong from the weak. You are weak for failing to speak up against China for the treatment of the Uyghur Muslims. Is the money more important to you than the lives of Muslims?

Rohingya Muslims, in Myanmar, have been persecuted for over half a decade by the government there. Their persecution went unreported for such a long time, until a few years ago when it gained some coverage on social media. Has this stopped their persecution? No. Since 2016, the government has been carrying out an ethnic cleansing genocide, which has claimed the lives of over 30,000 Muslims. Many more have fled and been displaced. Their houses and masjids have been burnt down. Their villages lying in ashes. Those captured were tortured and killed, with the women and girls being raped. This genocide has not ended. It is still happening.

The current government in India, Modi and the BJP, are trying to create a fascist society, by persecuting Muslims. Muslims have been persecuted in India ever since the end of British rule. In the last couple of years, we have seen the persecution multiply, with attacks and hate crimes increasing. To make matters worse, the government is running an anti-Muslims regime, by attacking the rights of Muslims. By revoking article 370, the government has stripped Jammu and Kashmir of their autonomy. Muslims have been attacked. Journalist and politicians have been arrested to prevent information of the persecution these people from being released. Now the government have introduced a fascist citizenship law which discriminates against Muslims. The fascist, BJP and Modi are working against the human rights of Muslims. On top of that, Muslims being attacked and killed for being Muslims. Violence against Muslims has lasted for nearly a century now. Modi as PM or chief minister of Gujarat has done nothing to prevent attacks on Muslims. He failed to handle riots against Muslims in 2002. These riots caused him to be banned from entering America. He did nothing back then and is doing nothing now to stop violence against Muslims. Instead he is provoking the violence through the Hindutva. Modi is an extremist and should be stopped.

One of the most persecuted people ever since the end of WWII are the people of Palestine. It is well known the troubles they are suffering. It is not just persecution against Muslims. It is more than that. It is persecution against all Palestinians. Palestinians have very little food, clean water and medicine, especially the people of Gaza. Their crime, being born in Palestine. Their homes and land, which has been in their family for generations, are being taken away from them and torn down. The sounds of explosions and air strikes is a reality. Whilst the movement is strong around the world, their suffering continues.

Islamophobia has become the norm is western societies, with many current government adopting anti-Muslim policies. From European countries banning the Burqa to Trumps Muslim travel ban and the UK electing a man who is an Islamophobe. The lives of Muslims in Western countries get increasingly scarier each day. We are constantly seeing hate crimes, especially after big victories for the far right; Trump, Brexit and Johnson winning. Groups like the alt-right and the EDL are seen as acceptable groups to have by our media. They do little to show the violence these people carry out. Instead the media attack peoples like ANTIFA, who stand to protect Muslims rights. Until these people are driven out by our society, Muslims will not be safe.

The worst persecution Muslims are facing are by Muslim regime. These people say they stand for Muslim rights, but their actions are the opposite. Saudi government should be labelled as extremist. I don’t know how they still have the support of so many countries. (I do. All people care about is money.) Saudis human rights record is terrible. On top of that, they are war criminals. Their role in the Yemini civil war has been unreported by the mainstream media. Over 100,000 Yeminis have died during this war. A war in which the Saudis have been using British weapons. Over 3 million people have been displaced. The Saudi government are one of the biggest reasons why persecution against Muslims exist. No Muslim should support their regime.

The biggest hypocrite is the Turkish president, Erdogan. This man constantly talks about protecting Muslims rights. He constantly talks about the rights of Palestinians. All he does is talk. Never trust a man that just talks. This is the man who initiated the strikes against the Kurd, in October. Rojava, an area of Syria, which has been able to form a Socialist society from ruins. That is what Erdogan is trying to ruin with bombs. By attacking the Kurds, who were the key in defeating ISIS, has led to the revival of ISIS. How is killing Muslims, defending Muslims rights? Erdogan claims of protecting Palestinian is also false. He has created a successful trade deal with Israel. His words are empty. He does not care about the people of Palestine. He does not care about their suffering. He does not care about the suffering of Muslims. He does not care about the lives of Muslims. Erdogan is the biggest hypocrite.

As Muslims we are one. We will always be one. We must stick together. We must fight for each other and protect one another. We have seen recently how much society cares about us. The answer is very little. Therefore, we have to be the positive change, not just for us but for all. Every minority and every person who faces persecution. We must lead the fight against fascism. We can’t rely on leaders of so called Muslim countries. Therefore, it is down to us to fight alongside our allies. At the end of the day, we must create a fair and equal society, for all. Or else we will fall down the rabbit hole of fascism, which is currently winning around the world. Each life is sacred and worth fighting for.

Aleha
