Fighting Johnson’s Undemocratic Coup

Politicians continue to play games with the lives of the people of UK. The Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, is the perfect example of a career politician, and not a politician that looks out for the people of this country. His views on Brexit, and every other matter, is like a yoyo. He moves up and down, all around, until he finds a position in which he profits from. His games have led us even closer to a no-deal Brexit by suspending parliament. This is undemocratic and further deepens the constitutional crisis we are in.

For far too long we have seen the conservative government risk the lives of the poor and less fortunate, just to give themselves a leg up. What we’re seeing right now is not something new. It has been happening for the last decade. Tories acting in the own self-interest and whats best for their friends, whilst the rest of us suffer. This is just a succession of the actions of Tories, as they evolve into this mean and nasty monster.

Even after everything the Tories have done, they haven’t stooped this low before. By suspending parliament they’re effectively shutting down the voices of the people. No longer can the people who represent us express their views in parliament. The government know they don’t have the support for a no-deal Brexit in the house of commons or the public. That’s why they are trying their best to prevent MPs from blocking a no-deal Brexit.

Leavers constantly attack Remainers on preventing a democratic mandate. Yes, leave won the EU referendum, but after running the biggest scam of the 21st century (we’ll get into that another time). 17.4 million voted to leave Brexit. However, they did not vote to leave the people of this country poorer and in a state of depression. We already have low full-time employment, people living on the streets including children, schools and hospital understaffed and unprepared. Why are we adding to all this misery by having a no-deal Brexit?

We must fight the government every way possible. We must block a no-deal Brexit and stop this undemocratic process from happening. Don’t take backseat and watch as this country fails. There is still time to prevent all this misery from happening.

Start by signing petitions.

Write to your local MP. Tell them how you actually feel. Make your views be known. MPs represent you. Make sure they know you exist.

There have been protest right across the country today. More protests are being planned tomorrow (29th August 2019). A protest will be held in Parliament Square in London, organised by @SODEMAction. Protest will be held in City Square in Leeds, organised by @LeedsEurope. In Birmingham on Victoria Square, there will be protest organised by @Olly4Northfield @nickyebrennan and @momentum_brum. A protest in Leicester, City Clock Tower, organised by @Kieran_Blacker. Finally, a protest will be held in Cheltenham, Henrietta Street by @Chelt4Europe.
If you can attend any of these places then please do try to.

A rally is being held in Westminster on September 3rd, when MPs return to parliament after this current recess.

Finally, prepare yourself for a general strike. Action is needed against this government and it is needed now. We need everyone to get involved and do their bit. Our voices need to be heard. We have to put an end to this madness.

Johnson is trying every dirty trick in the book to piledrive through a no-deal Brexit. He is even willing to use undemocratic powers to prevent any form of opposition. We need MPs back in parliament and let them use their voices to debate the issue at hand. Johnson knows he can’t do this democratically. He doesn’t have the support of the people or the house. 17.4 million people voted to leave. Not to have a no-deal Brexit. We need to stop him now before it is too late. Let’s work together to get rid of this disease.
