The Royal Feud

Whats going on with Meghan Markle and the Blood fami… I mean, Royal family is more than just an in-family feud, but a representation of British society. The Royal family representing British society? Not something I thought I would ever say. In fact, the way this has all played out clearly shows the racism problem in Britain.

This is not a pro-Meghan or pro-Queen argument. I don’t like either. Why should a person be given a high status for being born or marrying into a family? Also, I won’t forgot how, for her wedding, they cleared out homeless, like they are trash on the floor. However, on this issue, I stand with Meghan, as do many people of colour. It is to do with the treatment Meghan receives because of the colour of her skin. People of colour have to stand in line and do as they’re told. The moment they start expressing their views and start to defend themselves, that is when the problems arise.


Treatment of Meghan in the media is very familiar. Raheem Sterling, and many black players have received similar treatments. When they and their white counterparts do the same thing, the black players are vilified, whilst the white players are praised. When Tosin Adarabioyo, a young black Man City player, brought his mum a house, he was criticised as he had never started a premier league match. On the other hand, Phil Foden, another young Man City player but white, brought his mum a house, he was praised for his actions. There is a clear target on black people and other minorities. Their actions are constantly attacked, whether it is good, bad or completely irrelevant. Raheem Sterling was criticised for eating from Greggs for goodness sakes. Meghan’s treatment in the press is very similar to what happens to many people of colour. Kate will be praised, whilst Meghan in criticised for doing the same thing. On top of that, Meghan will be demonetised for something that’s just not news-worthy or completely out of her control.

I have seen many white folks saying “where is the racism. I have only seen criticism, not actual racism”. You are blinded by your white privilege. Clearly examine the criticism she is receiving. Look at the words they are using. “Pregnant Kate tenderly cradles her baby bump”. “WHY CAN’T MEGHAN KEEP HER HANDS OFF HER BUMP? IS IT PRIDE, VANITY, ACTING”. “Prince William gifted with an avocado for pregnant duchess”. “MEGHAN MARKLE’S BELOVED AVOCADO LINKED TO HUMAN RIGHTS ABUSE AND DROUGHTS”. It is clear Kate is being praised and Meghan is criticised for the same things? William and Kate are treated like relationship goals, even though William cheats on Kate. On the other hand, it is Meghan that’s manipulating Harry. Are people not seeing the same thing I am? Open your eyes. Calling a person, a derogatory word is not just the only way to be racist. There are many different forms. People of colour know that too well.

If you needed more evidence of racism being thrown towards Meghan, then just look at her treatment compared to an actual paedophile, Andrew. This man should be in prison. Instead he is being protected by the Queen and the media. The outrage he received is nothing compared of Meghan. Meghan’s crime, being black. Andrew’s crime, being a PEADOPHILE. HOW CAN HE RECIEVE LESS OF AN OUTRAGE? Why don’t monarchist ever talk about him. I believe this outrage against Meghan is being used to keep the focus away from Andrew. However, we the people have not forgotten. He should and will be in prison. Justice will be served.

Whenever people of colour are outspoken, they are criticised, even if what they say makes sense. The most abused MP is Diane Abbott. Yes, she has made blunders. SO HAS EVERY OTHER MP. Diane Abbott has done some amazing work, from being the only black student, to becoming the first black female MP and her fight for equality. She is an inspirational woman. Why is Stormzy constantly put down by the mainstream media? I guess his political views, which resonate with young people has nothing to do with it, right. Grime and rap music are constantly demonised, an art form which is dominated by black people. Minority football players are the most abused players, even though some of them are the best players on the team. There is a clear attack on minorities. When they speak, they are instantly put down. It is a form of suppression. If you want to make it then behave and do as you are told, or else get in the bin.

If you still aren’t sure, I am not a royalist. I don’t understand why we still have a Royal family. I don’t like them, and anyone associated with them. They maybe be great individuals, but as a collective, I can’t stand them. That is why I am not a fan of Meghan. I do believe she and Harry should give back everything they have gained from being royals, JUST LIKE ALL THE OTHER ROYALS. This family represents the evil empire, which killed millions around the world. Whilst you’re giving back everything you have gained from the people, give back everything you have stolen from the countries you colonised. With the events of the last year, it is clearer now than ever, that we need to disband the monarchy.
